Island Safari for Cruise Ship Guests

This Samui Island Safari is individually designed for cruise ship guests and the lay times of the ships. This English guided day trip is a perfect choice to discover the tropical Island of Koh Samui. As the time for shore leave is usually limited, the program is focused on showing you an exclusive selection of the most beautiful places on the island. You will see some interesting sights but also discover the beautiful nature of the jungle with an exciting OFF-ROAD-Trip through the rain forest. The extremely individual concept makes this tour a very impressive an unforgettable experience. The Samui Safari is equally suitable for adults and children. Activities and shows with animals are deliberately avoided on this animal friendly tour.

Laem Sor Pagoda

This unique pagoda is located directly on the beach of Laem Sor and therefore a great photo opportunity. The coating consists of cream-colored mosaic tiles which seem to be golden in the shimmering sunlight.

Na Muang Waterfalls

Na Muang Waterfalls 1 and 2 are the most famous ones on the island. Both of them are surrounded by dense jungle. The first one is 18.5 meters high and falls into a natural pool where you have time to bathe or swim. Compared to waterfall 1, the second one comes down from 80 meters in cascades. At the bottom there is a safari park where we have another stop.

Mummified Monk

Inside the Kunaram temple you can see the mummy of a monk. Interesting is that this monk has not been preserved in any way. However, he simply dried out and therefore did not decay. His name was Por Lung Daeng who has spent a lot of his time with meditation. As a result, he obviously has developed visionary powers. In his testament he already mentioned the possibility that he may not decay and that he wants to be displayed inside the temple if so.

Magic Garden

After visiting the mummified monk our Island Safari leads into the jungle of Koh Samui. On a height of 600 meters above sea level we will visit the Magic Garden. Here you will see plenty of Buddhist statues surrounded by dense rain forest and placed around a small creek with a mini waterfall. Tar Nim (in English Uncle Nim) began his late life’s work at the age of 77 and formed all these statues during a period of 14 years. Besides of the statues he added a lot of small hidden details that have to be discovered.

Mountain Buddha

In the middle of the jungle on a height of 635 meters above sea level is a 12-meter-high Buddha statue located inside the Teepangkorn temple. This is the highest located Buddha statue of Koh Samui. It is place on a platform with a viewpoint that offers a spectacular view over the villages of Chaweng and Lamai and even beyond to the sea.

Rubber Tree plantation

During the jungle trip we will also stop at a rubber tree plantation. Here we show you how to get the liquid latex out of the tree bark. Thanks to a special cutting technique, it runs downwards in a spiral and ends in a tray which is usually half a shell of a coconut.

12:00Lunch and Beach time

Out of the jungle and back to the civilization a delicious lunch will be provided. A freshly prepared Thai set menu is served inside a beach side restaurant in Bang Po. After lunch you have time to swim in the clear waters of the sea or just relax on the beach.

Transfer back to the Pier

After having enjoyed the beach our “Island Safari for Cruise guests” comes to an end. We will take you back to the pier on time so that you can comfortably join your tender boats back to the cruise ship.
